New this year is the SNOW QUEEN by Operadans, a new interdisciplinary music and dance ensemble in The Hague. Nestled in the inspiring surrounding of The Paleiskerk (cl to Palaca Noordeinde), this well loved fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen comes to life with storytelling, singing, harp, modern dance and ballet, contemporary fashion and creative scenery.
The Canadian soprano Nicole Jordan in the role of the Snow Queen sings the sensual songs of the Romantic composers Franz Schubert, Gabriel Fauré, and Hector Berlioz. The stunning harpist Astrid Haring, playing the part of the evil mirror, will accompany Nicole with three dancers taking on the other parts. American actor Chip Bray will be your narrator in a performance for all the family.
And Ashley Ramsden returns to The Hague with A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the Hofje van Wouw. This all time Christmas favourite has been seen by thousands all over the world – and it is by now nearly unthinkable to start the Christmas Season without it. The Hofje van Wouw welcomes you with warm wine, coffee and teas – and don’t forget to take a stroll through the almshouse’s garden and see the founder Cornelia van Wouw. The performance takes place in the warmth of the next door Chapel of Barth.
