We go into Christmas and the New Year with a positive message from the WBII.
“In this world the optimists have it, not because they are always right, but because they are positive. Even when wrong they are positive, and that is the way of achievement, correction, improvement and success. Educated, eyes-open optimism pays; pessimism can only offer the empty consolation of (sometimes) being right.” – David Landes
The WBII Christmas lunch this year was held at the divine Het Kabinet just off The Hague’s Het Plein.
Both Akkie Okma, President of the WBII and Marjolein de Jong (Deputy Mayor of The Hague and alderman for Culture, City Centre and International Affairs) gave upbeat speeches about women moving forward in business.
With The Hague winning this year’s award of Best City Centre in the Netherlands and investment in the areas of culture, design and the city centre, there are plenty of opportunities for women in business to succeed. We are pleased to announce that during the Christmas event, amongst the fun Christmas present game and three-course lunch, seven new members signed up to join the WBII community of entrepreneurial women.
We look forward to 2014 to learn new ways of doing business and creating more opportunities, networking as well as enjoying each other’s company. And keep in mind: stick to your initial business plan for the future, only then you will reach your goal!
Festive greetings to all from the WBII.
