The beginning of the year is a time of renewal and fresh starts. January might feel slow as we ease back into our everyday lives after spending days in a holiday bubble. If you feel behind on your New Year’s resolutions, don’t worry, we’ve just welcomed the Chinese New Year of the Wood Snake. In Chinese culture, the snake symbolises wisdom, strategy and personal growth, and wood stands for expansion, growth and flexibility – qualities that resonate deeply with us as women in business. The Wood Snake is known for its patience, calculated decision making and ability to navigate challenges with grace. This is a great time for us to reflect on how we can evolve and what traits we can adapt in both our personal and professional lives.

February is also known as the month of love. While Valentine’s Day traditionally focuses on romantic love, we invite you to celebrate love in all its forms this month – especially the love we share in our community of strong, determined women. The network of love we created at WBII generously provides us with encouragement, kindness and commitment to help each other grow and thrive. At WBII, collaboration, mentorship and encouragement are at the heart of everything we do, and we invite you to continue nurturing this spirit of care and connection throughout the year.

As women entrepreneurs, and especially solopreneurs, we know that success doesn’t just happen in isolation – it flourishes in a network of care, encouragement and shared knowledge. So, let’s celebrate our loving network and our community that uplifts and empowers us.

On 20 February we would like to invite you to our WBII office on the Lange Voorhout to a borrel – a fun get-together and a wonderful opportunity to connect and have engaging conversations, share stories and simply have a laugh and a good time.

This event is also an opportunity for members to bring a ‘business buddy’ and introduce them to the WBII in an informal setting. We encourage you to bring a guest, whether it’s a fellow entrepreneur or someone interested in our community; don’t forget to register them as well when you register for the event. This is a great chance to expand your network and share the benefits of our community with others.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at our borrel! Let’s continue to strengthen our loving network of women supporting women.
