This year the WBII opted for a new format for its commemoration of International Women’s Day.
IWD_2015With workshops, plenty of opportunity to share and actively contribute to the proceedings, a keynote speech and networking, as the film capturing the event shows, attendees were actively engaged and clearly enthusiastic about the evening.
With a two part programme, in the afternoon and evening, this year the programme allowed for a more varied attendance between entrepreneurs and professionals which also added to the atmosphere.

‘Tools for change’

The workshop led by Vanessa Smith (Crafting Connection) and Patricia Verweij on Self-Leadership combined with the presentation by Sandra Boekhoudt (Money-Matters) on How to Achieve Financial Independence & Wisdom each provided a wealth of information, as well as stimulated the contributions from the participants. Taken together, these empowering sessions left all attendees with food for thought, and tools for change.
2H2B8729The inspiring presentation by Simone Filippini, CEO of Cordaid and former Dutch Ambassador to Macedonia, highlighted the benefits of investing in female entrepreneurship – here or elsewhere, challenging us to realise that the Netherlands, despite its ‘advantages’ has a long way to travel when it comes to female entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. To help Cordaid meet its goals towards this, Simone invited us as entrepreneurs, to help others by downloading the App FundRunner – to raise money for Cordaid, while doing exercise for ourselves.

Bijlmer Bridge2Hope Project

2H2B8200And, not to be forgotten from the evening: the efforts we all made towards supporting the Bijlmer Bridge2Hope Project by buying the bracelets made for the occasion.
Bracelets are available for purchase at all upcoming WBII events, while stocks last!
