Some highlights from our September Board Meeting include:
2017 Calendar
Our WBII calendar is off to be printed with 12 beautiful “watery” photos (“Water, Water, Everywhere” is this calendar’s theme). Many thanks to the members that contributed with their photos but also with their calendar advertisements and contributions to WBII, and, of course, thanks to Lisa Hall for taking over all the designing and editing of the calendar.
Thank You’s
The Board would like to thank Lisa Hall and Myra Colis for their contribution to the WBII as board members and Natalie Carstens as Office Manager. Their help has been really valuable throughout the last years. We are glad they are still contributing to WBII and we wish them the best of luck on their own businesses.
Call for Speakers
WBII is looking for speakers for upcoming networking events. WBII is open to suggestions from members, so if you would like to be given this opportunity, please contact Liliana with your proposal.
“I am not a tourist” Expat Fair
WBII will be present at the Expatica Fair in Amsterdam (2/10/2016). Chaired and coordinated by Vassia Sarantopoulou and a committee of members of WBII. Any members willing to participate in this event are more than welcome to contact Vassia. Free tickets will be distributed to the members that would like to visit or help.
Strategy Meeting at 13/9 with Sinead Hewson
The board will meet at 13/9/2016 together with our advisory board member Sinead Hewson. Some of the topics of the agenda will be: Branding (strategic visibility), Ethics (roles and responsibilities, policy and philosophy of WBII), financial opportunities.
PDW venues
World Trade Center (WTC) The Hague has confirmed our venue for all four of the Professional Development Workshops for the following months (Powerful Pitching 29/09 – Podcasts, Webinars & Live Streaming 10/11 – Mastering WordPress 8/12 – LinkedIn 101 19/01). Members who would like to coordinate each event should contact Liliana for further action.
Social Media Promotion & Communication
WBII’S presence in social media will be strengthened even more the following months. Vassia Sarantopoulou (Social Media Manager – Executive Board Member) and Liliana (Office Manager) are building together a social media strategy so that WBII members can have a more panoramic and detailed overview of membership benefits and opportunities in WBII. A welcoming committee will be created for developing a welcome flow and making new member’s induction run more smoothly.
Mastermind groups
Dymphna Elsink will facilitate “Info Sessions” for members about the Mastermind Groups. These sessions will take place three times a year, one hour before a networking event. This way the (new and old) members will learn and refresh their knowledge about the mastermind groups, the benefits one can have when participating in such a group and how they can make the best out of it.
Start Your Own Business
SYOB workshop is all set to run in November 17, with venues booked at WTC The Hague and facilitated by Sinead Hewson. Ticket sales have started and members and non-members are more than welcome to participate and gather the most useful information on how to set up their own business.
The WBII Executive Board:
Julie Kennedy, Charlene Lambert, Nira Satguru, Clare Summerfield, Lucy Bosscher, Vassia Sarantopoulou, Sophie Bonavero and Suzy Oge.
The Executive Board is comprised of committed members, each taking specific responsibilities to support the WBII. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month for a 2-3 hour meeting at our office on the Nassauplein.
