The countdown to IWD has begun, and we are working hard behind the scenes to make this the best and most exciting event that we’ve even had!

Marianne_Abib_PechAuthor of The Financial Times Guide to Leadership to speak at IWD

We are thrilled to announce that one of our speakers for International Women’s Day has now been confirmed.

Marianne Abib-Pech started her career at Arthur Andersen, before joining General Electric Europe, and then becoming global CFO of one of the business units of Shell International Petroleum at the age of 35.
About two years ago, Marianne decided to start a more entrepreneurial chapter in her career. She moved to Hong Kong, wrote The Financial Times Guide to Leadership, and created Lead the Future  (LTF), an umbrella brand that includes a leadership consulting firm, a financial advising platform and a thought leadership platform.  During her talk, Marianne will share with us some of the decisions that she made during her career that helped contribute to where she is today. Would you like to host a table at IWD?

We would love to have one of our members at each of the dinner tables, to meet and get to know the guests, and as a resource about WBII. All of the tables are round, and have 8 place settings. If you are interested in hosting a table, please let us know. It could be a table with some of your friends or acquaintances, with some guests who are completely new, or a mixture of both. Please contact Vinita Salome at Vinita@vinitasalome.com for additional information.

Logos, and more logos, please!

During the International Women’s Day Dinner, in both the program booklet and on the big screen, our members’ logos will be displayed. If you would like to have your company’s logo included in our IWD media, please submit your logo by 24th February at the latest.

Shhh…. don’t tell–Silent Auction!

Since starting our Silent Auction 2 years ago, this has become one of the highlights of the evening! The choice and selection of products and services are amazing. And this year in particular, we’re focusing on our members to give you the chance to increase your business profile in the international community. A donation of the proceeds of the Silent Auction will go to support The Bijlmer Project, a non-profit, grassroots collaborative project between Webster University and CARF (Christian Aid & Resources Foundation) to address the psychosocial needs of victims of human trafficking and modern day slavery.

Please consider participating in the Silent Auction. Last year, many of our members donated their services, in the form of a 1-hour consultation, or a product that they produce. For additional information, please contact Ceci Wong. We need to know by 20th February at the latest if you will be donating a product or service for the Silent Auction, and to include your gift on the Silent Auction list.

Items to be included in the Silent Auction should be dropped off at the Bel Air Hotel by 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 8, clearly specifying that it is for the WBII International Women’s Day Dinner. Or please contact Ceci to make arrangements for another convenient time.

Spread the good news!

Please also help us spread the good news! International Women’s Day is just once a year, and one of the most important dates on our calendar. We would like to have as many people as possible join us in this inspiring evening, and wonderful celebration! By sharing our invitation with your friends and contacts, you will help us to ensure that we have a sell-out event! Please forward this invitation link to your contacts.
