WBII Member, Ute Limacher-Riebold, has a workshop coming up this month on parenting the bilingual child. Here’s all the details:
Event: Workshop – Parenting the Bilingual Child (by Ute Limacher-Riebold)
Location: Christus Triumphatorkerk. Juliana van Stolberglaan 156, 2595 CL The Hague.
When: 13 May 2015, 10:00-13:00
We all know that speaking multiple languages is a valuable asset in our global world and fostering the family languages (mother/ father language) helps children to find – or maintain – their identity.
Children do not become bilinguals “by magic”. This ongoing process takes several years and needs consistency, commitment and creativity.

  • Would you like to know how to support your child become or stay bilingual?
  • Which languages do you want your child to talk (read, write)?
  • Do you sometimes wonder if you child will be able to maintain his/her family language(s)?

In Ute’s workshop, she will show you how you – together with your partner, teachers, caregivers – can support your child to stay or become a confident bilingual.
You will find out how to evaluate your current situation and get a clear picture about which aspects to consider.
