What an amazing year the City of The Hague has been going through! Last November, we celebrated the 200-year anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We had President Obama in front of the “Boogie Woogie” – the famous painting of Mondrian at the Gemeentemuseum – when he was here to attend the Nucleair Summit. And, finally, with the World Cup Field Hockey championship still going on, The Hague is showing it’s sports side.
Over the past year, the WBII also continued to take major steps in it’s drive to be a business network of importance, and a place where collaboration starts. We had very successful networking events, and often had to rent extra space because there were many more participants to accommodate than our usual space could hold. The International Women’s Day Dinner, with keynote speaker Marianne Abib-Pech, was a great success, and we made a re-start with the Mastermind Groups A.K.A. the Business Breakthrough Groups.
I have enjoyed being President of this wonderful group, and the year has gone by before I knew it! I have learned so many things, and I am thankful for that. Now, it is time for me to focus on my business and to make future plans. I am not leaving the WBII, only stepping down. I am very glad to hand the WBII over to our next President, and that is, of course, Lisa Hall!
I want to thank my fellow Board Members for their support this year. It was a great pleasure to work with all of you, and I wish the new team under the guidance of Lisa all the best.
Thank you.
