WBII Networking September 2013The second “I” in WBII stands for “International.” And what an international group we are!
At the last network meeting, held on Thursday 26 September, everyone in attendance shared with the group in which countries they had lived before coming to the Netherlands. All the participants have lived abroad!
We have many nationalities amongst our members, and what a rich source of experience they provide – although I have a feeling that the Canadians were in the majority. Our speaker, Diane Lemieux, and her presentation on The Mobile Life, was particularly appropriate for this group.
Diane, who is a journalist and writer, has lived in many different countries around the world. She compares her life to that of a modern female explorer as she moved with her family to the different postings. She discussed how to prepare yourself, your expectations, and what to do if your expectations are not being fulfilled.
The discussion afterwards about where your home is and the benefits of the mobile life was fascinating.
Diane also signed copies of her book, which is hot off the press.
Thanks to Diane for the informative presentation!
