A moment to celebrate – 2026 marks the Women’s Business Initiative International’s 20th year of existence. Twenty!! Over that time we have supported the work of about 1200 female entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. Most, though not all, internationals. We have created a community, enhanced knowledge, fostered innovations and witnessed the growth of many different services. Our Mastermind groups continue to foster growth and comfort; our Skill Share Sessions allow members to share something they do and know well with others; and at our networking events knowledge is shared and connections fostered. So many things to celebrate – and you are all invited to join us in doing so on 16 March 2026 at a luncheon at Luden in The Hague. Suzy Ogé, the Founder of the WBII, along with speakers from the University of Utrecht and the Representation of the European Commission in the Netherlands will be on hand to help us celebrate. Linked to the above – but not exclusively – we are delighted to introduce an Alumni Member Level Fee. For some – those whose businesses have perhaps closed or who have moved across the world – there may be a desire to invest in a community which was there for them when they first started their business or arrived in the Netherlands. Our Alumni members contribute to the sustainability of the WBII and are invited to stay connected to our membership community via WhatsApp, member events and, of course, be listed (if they wish) as a WBII Member. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and learning from these professional women – and knowing they support an environment for others who follow in their footsteps.
Resilience seemed like a good topic for our Anniversary year and we have a selection of speakers lined up for our networking events – as well as the return of our popular Sushi Lunch (at an establishment set up and run by two entrepreneurial women) – and a few members-only events for us to enjoy! And remember, together, as a community we are more resilient … every day.
