Executive Board: Finance Position

Are you the next WBII treasurer? This is a crucial role focused on the structure and running of the WBII’s finances and operations.

The WBII Board:
The Executive Board consists of committed members, each taking specific responsibilities to support the WBII. The Board members are all volunteers, dedicating an average of 5 hours per week to the organisation. We meet monthly at our Board Meetings to establish, review and implement the business strategy of the WBII, ensuring that the organisation is on track and sustainable. We aim to have between 6 and 8 members on the board, each bringing in specific skills.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a new member to join the board to oversee the financial operations of the organization.  For this position we are looking for a structured and analytical person who is able to fulfil a financial position.  The role will involve working closely with the office manager who runs the daily affairs, and liaising with the accountant on tax returns.
We are looking for someone who has previous accounting experience, and the ability to:

  • Manage the finances of the organization
  • Administrate the fiscal matters of the organization (in collaboration with an accountant)
  • Provide an annual budget to the board for members’ approval
  • Develop useful and readable report formats in collaboration with the office manager.
  • Present a snapshot of the organisation’s financial health to the board members at the monthly board meetings
  • Provide budgets and pricing proposals for individual events
  • Manage their own time, prioritise work and meet deadlines

Good interpersonal skills, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills are a must.
Commitment:

  • Requires a commitment of 2 years, with an average contribution of 5 hours per week
  • Registration at KvK
  • There is an orientation meeting prior to joining the Board
  • Attendance at the monthly Executive Board meetings (first Tuesday of the month 10-12)
  • Presence at the monthly networking events is a plus
  • Keep up-to-date with board level communications (using Asana)
  • Support and participate in WBII events

Selfless dedication and commitment are a must, as is the ability to work independently on the tasks assigned and report back to the Board in the time frame agreed upon.
