WBII Executive Board Meeting – October 24, 2017
The WBII Executive Board met on Tuesday, October 24, in place of the planned scheduled meeting on November 7. The next Board Meeting will be on Nov. 14, which is also the day of the WBII Open House from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. The last meeting of 2017 will be on Dec. 12 , which will also be a combined Board Meeting and Open House. Please join us at the Open House if you would like to have coffee, are just in the neighbourhood and want to say ‘hello’, or have an idea that you would like to discuss. Board meetings are held at our office on Nassauplein 20.
Membership & Plans
Membership incasso is being implemented. Much of the Office Manager’s time has been spent tracking down membership payments. We wanted to find a way to ensure that the Office Manager can spend more time supporting our members, and the incasso system will help solve this problem. All new and renewing members will be asked to fill in and sign a form that they agree to an annual incasso payment. Members can always cancel their membership with the required due notice.
The Festive Lunch is planned for Thursday, December 7 from 12 – 3 p.m. Various locations are being considered and the decision will be taken shortly. Please reserve this in your calendar – more information to follow!
Mark your calendars for our Start Your Own Business November 16th, Professional Development Workshop on November 30, the Festive lunch on December 7, International Women’s Day on March 8, and the monthly networking events on the 4th Thursday of the month (except December).
Update: Administrative
Since Liliana’s departure, we have decided to take advantage of this time to reevaluate our administration and determine the best way to proceed. We are so fortunate that two of our members – Lisa Hall of Lemonberry and Dymphna Elsink of Jouw Assistente– have graciously offered to take on the office management tasks in the interim. Over the next 6 months, Lisa will handle WBII’s website, and work with Nira Satguru on the financial/operational side. Dymphna has offered to do the administrative side, and handle registration for the networking events, lunch, email correspondence, and new members. A huge ‘Thank You’ to you both from all of us for so capably supporting WBII and our members!
New Board Members Sought
We are looking for three new Board Members, one for Treasurer, one for social media and one for Events. Please consider joining us on the Board! It’s a great way to support our members and organization, raise your own profile in the community, and learn and practice association management with a great team! WBII is a member-led organization. We want to stay in close contact with our members and support each other. If you would like to get involved in WBII in some way, we are happy to have you! Please speak to Julie, Nira or Charlene. Everyone is welcome!
WBII is always looking for partner/sponsor organizations. If you have any suggestions regarding organizations interested in supporting women entrepreneurs, please let us know.
