We ask our members to share a few thoughts: to introduce themselves to fellow members, and those who are interested in our community.

In this installment, we interview Magalie Derhille of MaD’s Academy.

Tell us about your business:
Web automation for busy online entrepreneurs.

What 5 words would you choose to describe your business?
Backstage, efficient, unnoticed, simplification, mind peace

What are your most popular products or services?
– My “IT Chakras realignment service” where we streamline processes to have all of your tools communicating with each other to spare you the burden of having information copied over one system to another. It is also about helping you about the administrative tasks, invoicing, appointment booking, automated appointments follow-ups …
– The “Reveal the Invisible of your business”where we setup dashboards which go and fetch their data auto-magically and give you highlights about your business such as : – where are your customers coming from (from which platform ? through which free offer)
– How long do you customers need to make the decision to purchase after they “met” you for the first time
– There is also Technical Efficiency coaching session for those wishing to (re)gain mastery

What do you like best about owning a business?
Being independent, being in touch with a diversity of inspiring entrepreneurs, being able to have my own rhythm in life.

What or who inspired you to start your business?
I’ve worked almost 20 in a corporate job, burned out with the growing lack of purpose, now I am at the right place, helping the people who help others.

What makes your products/services special?
They are totally custom-made. They adapt to the special situation of the entrepreneur. No one-size-fits-all solution, as every business, every entrepreneur, every niche is different. I am “tool agnostic”, I never come with a tool to replace another which is already doing the job well. I prefer to go through rounds of optimisation and see when silent automation can help to streamline entrepreneurs everyday life. I also include a touch of “spirituality” in my approach, as I use Human Design to tailor my way of working to the very specificities of my customer, respecting their own decision making process.

Who is your role model or mentor?
A mix of Nelson Mandela and a projector mentor in human design who is not really known.

What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is that something bad happen to my son.

What motivates you on a daily basis?
I like being the person in the shadow helping other to progress on their path. I like providing them with the right tools to empower them, so they can make their own decisions.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced?
Quitting a nearly 5 figure a month corporate job to jump in the entrepreneurial adventure while getting divorced at the same time.

What advice would you give women who are starting a business?
Follow your heart, it knows where you should be heading to.

What is your favourite business book?
Atomic Habits by James Clear, together with Deep Work from Cal Newport. They set the foundations of my daily/weekly routines.

What are your top tips for networking?
Be yourself, do not fear to show yourself truly, don’t try to blending in as everyone else is already taken.

How do you maintain a work/life balance?
I do not work more than 25 hours a week (It is obviously tracked). I plan walks and lunches with friends as big rocks in my agenda. I make sure to take care of my energy, I nap very often, almost on a daily basis, having a 2 hours lunch break is my norm. I am here for the long run, like a marathon but I work in sprints of 50min.

What is your motto or theme song?
Let’s see what life brings to us.

How do you relax?
Walks in nature, listening to podcasts, reading novels.

What place inspires you and why?
Nature, it gives me peace and it has a lot to teach to us. Like respecting our own seasons and cycles.

What do you care most about, as a business owner?
I care that my business is to serve my life and not the opposite.

What are your future plans?
To continue to do what I like, and to empower more and more “carers” so they can impact more and more people. I have the true belief that we reached on point in humanity where we need more “soft skills” than hard ones, we need more people rising to help the planet, other people than people teaching how to make more money.

Are you running any offers or promotions?
I offer 10% off on my service for any WBII member who’ interested in working with me in “Realigning their IT Chakras”, or “Revealing the invisible from their business”.

Thank you Magalie!
