In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught in the rush of doing – more clients, more visibility, more results. As women entrepreneurs, we often carry more than just our businesses: family responsibilities, emotional load and the inherited pressure to care for everyone but ourselves. Slowing down can feel like a luxury, or worse – a failure. It took me years to begin unlearning that mindset. But I still catch myself slipping into old patterns, especially when I’m overwhelmed or trying to prove something. It happened again recently, just before a short break in the Ardennes with my son. That time away reminded me what it feels like to simply be. One foot in front of the other, through the lush late spring greenery buzzing with birdsong: no phone, no podcast – just nature, breath, presence. Moments like these reconnect us with something deeper – our bodies, inner guidance and truth. When we pause and listen, we often realise we’ve known the answers all along. Do I push through the project even though I’m exhausted? Or do I rest, walk and return with clarity? Do I push myself through another intense workout? Or is my body asking for gentleness and care today? We don’t need to earn the right to rest or be kind to ourselves. We need to honour the wisdom that’s already within us and listen to the signals our bodies give us. That’s why WBII is excited to invite you to this month’s event on Thursday, 22 May – ‘Mind, Body & Business: A collaborative approach to health’ with Sandra Quist, Ira Sloof and Audrey Dickinson. With them, we’ll explore gentle yet powerful ways to reconnect and care for our bodies. These three wonderful practitioners – experts in homeopathy, acupuncture and nutrition respectively – will guide us in tuning in, nourishing ourselves and restoring balance, and will give us hands-on practices to take care of our health.
